"One more destination left" 'Don't Look Back' - movie review

It seems as if these days we are all escaping death. So it's fitting to see films like the thriller from Jeffrey Reddick DON'T LOOK BACK cruising the on demand screens. For those of us familiar with the franchise Reddick co produced FINAL DESTINATION this will feel all too similar. If you have never witnessed those films then you will nestle in for a "who dies next " thriller that's pretty fasted paced but also predictable.

The story follows Caitlin a young woman who witnessed a fatal beating along with a few other spectators. Shortly after she an the others start experiencing some weird phenomena that may be a vengeful spirit. A pretty straight forward storyline is what you can also expect as we watch Caitlin (Kourtney Bell) start to fall to pieces. Bell does solid work as the lead but the film was just too close to set up and execution of the DESTINATION franchise it was hard to shake away from it at the start. Still DON'T LOOK BACK is watchable enough to see a few creative and fun kills.

October brings a month were people are stuck on classics or constantly looking for "something to put on" to remain in spirit. Unfortunately DON'T LOOK BACK tends to lend itself to the latter. Once this becomes available on subscription outlets it main garner a few more eyes but for now it may be one to skip in lieu of others.

2/5
