Horror Movies Uncut has been covering the world of genre film since 2008. Over the years, we’ve had writers spread across the map—Stacey Valdez and Chris Ybarra in Texas, Heather Lee in California, Abby in Kansas City, and Dan and Adrian holding it down in England. Their voices helped shape what HMU became: a place for raw, independent coverage of horror, thrillers, and everything that cuts close to the bone.
These days, HMU is primarily a solo show, but the spirit of that collective still runs through the site. The goal hasn’t changed—to highlight the films, filmmakers, and festivals that keep this community alive. Hopefully, one day, more voices will join again. Until then, it’s all eyes forward, one story at a time.
Our Story
Horror Movies Uncut started in 2008 with a simple goal—cover the kinds of films that weren’t getting enough attention. From indie slashers to international festival gems, HMU became a place for voices who lived and breathed horror. Over the years, writers from Texas, California, Kansas City, and England helped shape what this site became.
We’ve seen festivals rise, filmmakers break through, and whole new generations of horror fans find their place. HMU has always been about tracking that pulse. Right now, it’s a one-man operation, but the vision hasn’t changed: shine a light on the corners of horror that deserve to be seen.
The story isn’t finished. The door’s open for more voices, more films, and more nights spent chasing what makes this genre matter.
