‘Pacifico’ Expands Global Sales Ahead of Sitges European Premiere and 2027 Latin American Release

Gonzalo Gutiérrez “GG” is taking his Spanish-language sci-fi creature feature Pacifico further around the world, with FilmSharks announcing a new round of international sales alongside plans for the film’s European premiere at the Sitges Film Festival.
Following sales activity surrounding TIFF, Pacifico has secured distribution across several international territories, while Cinemex is set to bring the film to theaters in Mexico and Latin America during the first quarter of 2027.
The approximately $10 million production has been positioned by its producers as one of the most ambitious Spanish-language science-fiction adventures to date, combining large-scale visual effects, extraterrestrial mythology and creature horror with an isolated survival story.
Pacifico follows a group of young travelers who become stranded on an island in the Pacific. Their attempts to escape take a darker turn when they encounter an evil presence that has remained hidden from humanity for centuries.
The film will make its European premiere at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, adding another major genre showcase to its international rollout.
FilmSharks has also closed a series of territorial deals. AV-Jet Films has acquired rights for Taiwan, MVP has taken India and the Indian subcontinent, and Media4Fun will handle Poland. Nashe Kino is scheduled to release the film theatrically across Russia and the CIS in the third quarter of 2026, while Splendid Film has a German-language release planned for the second quarter of 2027.
A broader Latin American streaming agreement with an undisclosed platform is also being finalized for the second quarter of 2027, according to FilmSharks. Deals for the United States, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, China and South Korea are also under discussion.
The international push follows the growing profile of a cast drawing talent from across Latin American film and television.
María Gabriela de Faría, who appeared in James Gunn’s Superman, stars alongside Manolo Cardona, whose credits include Who Killed Sara? and Narcos. The ensemble also includes Christopher von Uckermann, Claudio Cataño, Ricardo Abarca and Maria Nela Sinisterra.
Gutiérrez directs from a background heavily rooted in visual effects. A self-taught VFX artist and founding member of Argentina’s visual effects association, the filmmaker previously drew international attention for his science-fiction project Underland: The Last Surfacer. His effects experience has become a central component of Pacifico, which combines practical filmmaking with extensive visual effects to build its creatures and larger science-fiction environment.
The film is produced by Mauricio Brunetti and Guido Rud, with Florencia Lemoine serving as executive producer. Buenos Aires-based FilmSharks is handling international sales.
“We are proud of the reaction film is creating among top tier theatrical buyers who are watching and immediately reacting to the film’s amazing story and its top VFX studio quality,” Rud said in a statement. “Also top film fest like Sitges connected right away with the film universe. Pacifico is about so much more than alien spaceships and monsters.”
Rud added that FilmSharks expects additional territories to close as negotiations continue.
The expanding distribution footprint gives Pacifico a potentially significant position within the current wave of Latin American genre filmmaking. Rather than keeping its science-fiction elements confined to a smaller independent framework, Gutiérrez and the production team are approaching the material as a large-scale creature adventure designed for theatrical audiences.
With its island setting, ancient threat and emphasis on creatures and visual effects, the film will now get an important European genre showcase at Sitges before its wider international rollout continues.
Pacifico is scheduled for theatrical release in Mexico and Latin America through Cinemex in the first quarter of 2027, with additional international releases planned across 2026 and 2027.

What an exciting update on Pacifico’s expansion! I love how it mirrors the way subway surfers has taken off globally, adapting and thriving in various cultures. Perhaps incorporating elements of local storytelling could enhance its reception even more in Latin America. Can't wait to see how the film resonates with audiences!
Crown hair loss presents different challenges from frontal thinning. The crown often contains hair that grows in circular or spiral patterns, making placement more technically demanding. Specialists need to consider natural growth direction and the way light interacts with the scalp. Because the crown can require significant graft coverage, donor availability is also important. Treatment planning should account for the overall pattern of loss rather than https://edenhealthclubs.com/ focusing on one isolated area. Individual assessment remains essential for determining suitable options.
