NEON Reveals New Poster for Award-Winning Animated Sci-Fi Adventure ARCO
As NEON continues to quietly build one of the most interesting theatrical slates heading into 2026, the studio has unveiled a striking new poster for ARCO, the award-winning animated feature from breakout filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu. The film opens in New York and Los Angeles on January 23, before expanding nationwide on January 30, 2026.
If you’ve been craving a science-fiction story that leans more toward wonder, emotion, and imagination than apocalypse fatigue, ARCO looks positioned to be one of the year’s most refreshing theatrical experiences.
Set across timelines, ARCO follows a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075, only to find a planet on the brink. Lost in an unfamiliar and unstable world, Arco forms a heartfelt bond with Iris, a young girl living amid environmental and societal collapse. Alongside Iris’ loyal robot caretaker, Mikki, the two children set out on a journey to send Arco home — while slowly realizing they may also be humanity’s last, best hope.
The newly released poster leans into the film’s dreamlike tone, emphasizing scale, color, and innocence against a fragile future. It’s a visual promise of the kind of animated storytelling that doesn’t talk down to younger audiences while still offering layered themes for adults — hope, responsibility, and the cost of preserving tomorrow.
ARCO is written and directed by Ugo Bienvenu, with the screenplay co-written by Bienvenu and Félix de Givry. The film is produced by de Givry, Bienvenu, Audrey Tondre, and Sophie Mas, with Natalie Portman also serving as a producer through mountainA alongside Sophie Mas. The project is a co-production with Remembers Studio and France 3 Cinéma, with participation from Netflix, France Télévisions, Diaphana, and Goodfellas Animation.
The voice cast is stacked, featuring Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg, a lineup that suggests ARCO is aiming squarely at crossover appeal without sacrificing artistic ambition.
With its hopeful tone, painterly animation style, and festival momentum already behind it, ARCO feels like the kind of animated sci-fi fable that could quietly resonate long after its theatrical run.
ARCO opens January 23, 2026 in New York and Los Angeles, expanding nationwide on January 30. Keep this one on your radar.
