Slasher throwback 213 Bones will officially premiere in the UK at this year’s FrightFest on August 24th. Directed by the late Jeffrey Primm, the twisted whodunnit is a love letter to 90s horror—and comes packed with a soundtrack dripping in grunge nostalgia.
The film follows a group of anthropology students who quickly discover that studying the past can turn deadly. After uncovering human bones and personal belongings scattered across campus, they realize a gruesomely masked killer is hunting them down. Late-night study sessions spiral into a frantic fight for survival as Sheriff Bracco, Laurie the coroner, and their teacher Kelly race to uncover the murderer’s identity before anyone else becomes another entry in the killer’s textbook of terror.
213 Bones stars Luna Fujimoto (Blade of the 47 Ronin), Hunter Nance (Beyond The Rush), Colin Egglesfield (All My Children, The Client List), Francesca Barker McCormick (SinFull: Second Chance), and Liam Woodrum (Geek Girl).
The soundtrack is a heavy hitter for fans of 90s alternative rock, featuring Soundgarden and Mudhoney, alongside tracks from Duran Duran, Bananarama, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Meat Puppets, and more.
Producer John Michaels shared his excitement ahead of the premiere:
“We are thrilled to be selected in the main section of FrightFest. I am certain our dear director and friend, Jeffrey Primm, is smiling down from the heavens for this special London premiere. This one’s for the audiences and fanbase—it was made for you.”
