Where will we live in the future? What happens after the world as we know it crumbles beneath concrete and dust?
A24 just dropped the trailer for ARCHITECTON, a visually hypnotic new film from acclaimed filmmaker Victor Kossakovsky (Gunda, Aquarela), and it’s nothing short of monumental. The film stars legendary architect and designer Michele De Lucchi, but the real co-star? Several million tons of stone.
Set against barren wastelands, sprawling quarries, and monolithic ruins, ARCHITECTON feels like both a prophecy and a prayer. Kossakovsky captures the raw beauty—and terrifying permanence—of the materials we’ve used to shape our world, asking: what will remain when we’re gone? What will we build next?
Part environmental meditation, part architectural fever dream, ARCHITECTON explores the deep legacy of stone and concrete—the bones of civilization. Through breathtaking cinematography and haunting sound design, Kossakovsky isn’t just showing us the future. He’s daring us to design it.
A24 will bring ARCHITECTON to theaters on August 1st.
