Eric Nam teams with Alamo Drafthouse for an Oct. 19 event pairing his new “Psycho” music video with Alfred Hitchcock’s horror classic.

Alamo Drafthouse is turning Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho into a one-night music-and-movies event with Korean-American singer, songwriter and actor Eric Nam.

On Oct. 19, ten Alamo Drafthouse locations will host free special screenings of Hitchcock’s 1960 classic as part of a collaboration tied to Nam’s new album, Confessions of a Lonely Heart, which arrives Oct. 16 through his global distribution partner, The Orchard.

The event will open with a prerecorded introduction from Nam followed by the theatrical premiere of the music video for “Psycho,” the opening track from his new album. Fans will then settle in for Hitchcock’s Psycho, effectively giving the night two very different takes on the same title.

“Two PSYCHOs in one night feels like a pretty memorable way to celebrate this album,” Nam said. “I’m excited for fans to experience the music video on the big screen, then settle in for Hitchcock’s classic. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve put together.”

Nam has built an international audience through sold-out world tours and was previously recognized as a TIME100 Impact Award recipient. The Alamo event extends the rollout for Confessions of a Lonely Heart beyond a traditional album release by positioning its opening track inside a theatrical fan experience.

For Alamo Drafthouse, the collaboration continues a growing series of music-focused events created alongside The Orchard.

The companies previously partnered on a month-long Gorillaz screening series in February connected to the band’s ninth studio album, The Mountain, before following that in May with a livestream event featuring progressive death metal band Blood Incantation.

“A great fan event gives Alamo Drafthouse guests a reason to get off the couch and experience something special together,” Alamo Drafthouse Chief Marketing Officer Chaya Rosenthal said.

Rosenthal added that pairing Nam’s new music with Hitchcock’s film offered a natural fit because of the cinematic quality surrounding his work.

“He’s one of those rare artists whose work has always felt cinematic, so this is a genuinely exciting match for us, not just a good idea on paper,” Rosenthal said. “We’re thrilled to work with The Orchard again to welcome his fans into our world for a movie night they can only get here.”

Tickets for the Oct. 19 screenings are free, although guests must purchase a refundable $10 food and beverage voucher.

Participating locations include Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn in New York City, Seaport in Boston, Raleigh in North Carolina, Lakeline in Austin, Richardson in Dallas, Park North in San Antonio, Littleton in Denver, Wrigleyville in Chicago and Valley Fair in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The one-night event gives Nam fans an early theatrical showcase for “Psycho” while also returning one of horror cinema’s defining films to the big screen.

For audiences interested in both music and genre film, the pairing is appropriately on-brand: one new Psycho, one legendary Psycho, and one night built around experiencing both with a crowd.
