Green Room 10th anniversary at Alamo Drafthouse
Alamo Drafthouse will bring Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room back to theaters Oct. 30 with an anniversary interview, themed menu and Slayground merchandise.

Alamo Drafthouse is bringing Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room back to theaters for its 10th anniversary with a nationwide screening event featuring a new filmmaker interview, limited-edition Slayground merchandise and a menu inspired by the 2016 thriller.

The anniversary screenings will take place Oct. 30 at select Alamo Drafthouse locations across the country.

Before the film, audiences will see an exclusive anniversary interview featuring Saulnier alongside cast members Alia Shawkat and Macon Blair and special effects artist Mike Fontaine.

The event will also connect Green Room with Saulnier’s upcoming A24 thriller Slayground, which opens in theaters Jan. 29, 2027. Attendees will have access to a limited-edition Slayground popcorn bucket created for the anniversary event.

Released in 2016, Green Room follows a touring punk band whose performance at a remote club in the Pacific Northwest turns into a fight for survival after its members witness a murder.

Trapped inside the venue with a group of violent neo-Nazis attempting to eliminate the witnesses, the band is forced into an increasingly brutal siege.

The film stars the late Anton Yelchin alongside Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat, Joe Cole, Macon Blair and Patrick Stewart.

“Jeremy Saulnier is one of the most exciting filmmakers working today, with a knack for turning ordinary situations into white-knuckle occasions,” Alamo Drafthouse film programmer Jake Isgar said in announcing the event. “His movies are visceral, relentless, and packed with the kind of tension that hits even harder on the big screen.”

Alamo is also creating a limited food and drink menu drawing from Green Room’s punk setting and Pacific Northwest backdrop.

The Cowcatcher Loaded Mac features cavatappi pasta with Tillamook cheddar cheese sauce, seasoned ground beef, bacon, roasted peppers, onions and mushrooms, finished with sriracha sour cream and green onions.

The Ain’t Right Pizza uses an herb-garlic oil base with pepperoni, Italian sausage and Alamo’s cheese blend, with San Marzano tomato sauce placed on top alongside Parmesan and a ranch drizzle.

For the event’s themed cocktail, the Metal Marg combines Campo Bravo Tequila Plata with Midori, pineapple, lime and agave, served with a Tajín rim and cucumber.

The Green Room anniversary event will also serve as the beginning of a larger Alamo Drafthouse celebration of Saulnier’s films leading into Slayground.

A24 recently released the first teaser for Slayground, which stars Cory Michael Smith as scare actor “Metal Mike” Graves. The character awakens inside a haunted attraction surrounded by the bodies of his co-workers with no memory of what happened, only to become the target of a statewide manhunt.

Alamo plans to continue its Saulnier programming in early 2027 with a retrospective featuring Blue Ruin, Murder Party and another theatrical presentation of Green Room. Tickets for that series are expected to become available in December.

The programming gives audiences another opportunity to see one of Saulnier’s best-known films theatrically before his return to the big screen with Slayground three months later.

The Green Room 10th Anniversary screenings take place Oct. 30 at participating Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide.

Tickets for the GREEN ROOM 10th Anniversary event on October 30 are available at select Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide. Visit drafthouse.com for participating theaters, showtimes, and tickets.
