HMU First Look – SPINAL TAP 2: THE END CONTINUES
Still turning it up to 11… if they can find the knob.
After four decades, one stonehenge mishap, and more lost drummers than we care to count, the loudest mockumentary band in cinematic history is back. That’s right—David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, and Derek Smalls are reuniting for SPINAL TAP 2: THE END CONTINUES, and we’ve got your first look at the metal gods in all their graying, glorious chaos.
Directed once again by Rob Reiner (who also returns as the forever-flustered documentarian Marty Di Bergi), Spinal Tap 2 sees the estranged trio dragged back together for one final concert—because what else do you do when mortality is calling and your legacy’s still kinda up in the air?
McKean, Guest, and Shearer don the leather once again, joined by musical legends Paul McCartney and Elton John, in a film that promises more cringe, more riffs, and hopefully fewer spontaneous combustion.
In theaters nationwide September 12, 2025 courtesy of Bleecker Street, Spinal Tap 2: The End Continues doesn’t just revisit the band—it digs into the absurdity of aging rockstars trying to stay relevant in a world where their biggest fans now have grandkids. And yes, the 12th drummer’s fate is still very much a concern.
This one goes to 11—but probably with a bit more Advil. Keep it locked here at HMU for more updates, trailers, and possibly a behind-the-scenes look at those new “custom-fitted” tour pants.
