We all inherit something—whether we ask for it or not. Sometimes it’s tradition. Sometimes it’s trauma. And sometimes, it’s a curse.

In BIRTHRITE, the new folk horror thriller from Ross Partridge (Stranger Things, Room 104), a young couple attempts to escape the chaos of city life to raise their baby in peace. But peace isn’t what they find.

Starring Alice Kremelberg (The Sinner), Juani Feliz (Harlem, Civil War), and Michael Chernus (Severance), BIRTHRITE follows a pregnant woman who inherits a countryside home from an estranged aunt. Hoping to start anew, she and her girlfriend move in—only to be drawn into a dark history buried beneath the surface of the sleepy town.

When whispers of witches and karmic debt begin to rise, it becomes clear that their unborn child is at the center of something ancient and dangerous. As tension mounts and their neighbors grow increasingly strange, the couple must unravel the truth before it’s too late.

The newly released trailer from Brainstorm Media offers a chilling first look—equal parts dread, folklore, and paranoia. It’s a slow-burn descent into inherited horror with echoes of Rosemary’s Baby and The Wicker Man.
