Train to Busan filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho is returning to the zombie genre with Colony, a new Korean horror thriller arriving on 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD December 15 from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film is available now on Digital.

Directed by Yeon, Colony centers on a rapidly mutating virus unleashed during a biotech conference in Korea. When authorities respond by sealing the facility, a group of people trapped inside must contend with an expanding population of infected as they search for a way to survive.

Gianna Jun stars as Professor Se-jeong, who finds herself caught inside the facility when the outbreak begins. With escape routes cut off and the infected undergoing increasingly dangerous transformations, Se-jeong joins a small group of survivors attempting to stay alive as conditions deteriorate around them.

Jun leads an ensemble that includes Koo Kyo-hwan, who previously appeared in Yeon’s Train to Busan follow-up Peninsula. The cast also features Ji Chang-wook (Revolver), Shin Hyun-been (Revelations), Kim Shin-Rock (Project Y) and Go Soo (The Front Line).

Colony served as the opening-night film of the 2026 New York Asian Film Festival, where Jun received the Extraordinary Star Asia Award.

The film also marks a notable return to familiar genre territory for Yeon, whose 2016 feature Train to Busan became an international success and helped introduce a wider global audience to his approach to zombie horror. After continuing that world with 2020’s Peninsula, Yeon has worked across film and television on projects including Hellbound, Jung_E, Parasyte: The Grey and Revelations.

Rather than returning directly to the Train to Busan storyline, Colony introduces a separate outbreak scenario built around the confined environment of the biotech facility. The premise places its survivors inside the source of an escalating crisis, with the mutating nature of the virus adding another element to the traditional infected-survival framework.

The December physical-media editions will include a making-of featurette examining the production as well as a Q&A with Yeon Sang-ho. The package will also feature the U.S. trailer, international trailer and teaser.

The release gives horror collectors another Yeon Sang-ho title on 4K Ultra HD while bringing the filmmaker back to the genre that became one of the defining parts of his international career.

Well Go USA Entertainment will release Colony on 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on December 15. The film is available on Digital now.
