Emma Thompson Fights for Survival in Vertical’s Dead of Winter

Emma Thompson becomes an unlikely hero in the chilling new thriller Dead of Winter.

We’ve seen plenty of films where older talent discovers a second wind, but now it’s the women’s turn—and leading the charge is Emma Thompson. In Dead of Winter, the veteran actress takes on the role of a grief-stricken loner who stumbles into a nightmare after crossing paths with a young woman kidnapped by a murderous couple. The chilling new trailer, released by Vertical, positions Thompson as the only hope for survival.

The film also stars Judy Greer, Marc Menchaca, Gaia Wise, Cuan Hosty-Blaney, Dalton Leeb, Paul Hamilton, Lloyd Hutchinson, and Brian F. O’Byrne. Dead of Winter arrives in theaters September 26th.
