Chicago Gets Sweaty and Psycho in Alex Phillips’ ANYTHING THAT MOVES
Fantasia 2025 World Premiere – July 25 | Second Screening – July 29
There’s dirty talk—and then there’s Alex Phillips. The filmmaker behind All Jacked Up and Full of Worms returns with his latest boundary-breaking descent into erotic horror: ANYTHING THAT MOVES, a fevered, blood-slick, sex-drenched thriller pulsing through the alleys and bedrooms of a humid, howling Chicago.
Set to make its world premiere at Fantasia 2025, ANYTHING THAT MOVES follows Liam, a sensual courier-slash-sex worker pedaling through the city with his equally lascivious girlfriend. Together, they deliver snacks and satisfaction to a collection of lust-starved clients. But when a string of brutal murders begins to unfold, and the body count rises, suspicion circles back to their bed—and to Liam himself.
Shot on fleshy, saturated Super 16mm film and dripping in throwback grime, this Rust Belt giallo is a twisted cocktail of Taxi Driver, The Candy Snatchers, and Cruising. Phillips infuses every frame with woozy, psychedelic chaos while never losing the pulse of the story’s pitch-black humor and gut-wrenching violence.
The cast features breakout newcomer performances alongside legendary adult film icons Ginger Lynn (The Devil’s Rejects) and Nina Hartley (Boogie Nights), grounding the film in a world where sex work is both sacred and sinister. With a haunting original score by Chicago’s Cue Shop and lush, lurid visuals from Hunter Zimny (The Scary of Sixty-First, Funny Pages), this isn’t just exploitation—it’s exaltation.
ANYTHING THAT MOVES is a full-on ride—grimy, hypnotic, and fearlessly transgressive. It cements Alex Phillips as one of the most unshakable voices in the new wave of boundary-pushing indie horror.
