Last summer, attendees of the Tribeca Film Festival got an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated four-part docuseries on Tim Burton from filmmaker Tara Wood. Following a resounding response to the premiere episode, it has now been confirmed that the series is set for worldwide sales.


This in-depth exploration of Burton’s life and work offers a captivating look at one of the most beloved creative minds in cinema. In addition to behind-the-scenes insights and interviews with A-list collaborators—including Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska—the series will also feature a never-before-seen stop-motion short, adding to its must-watch appeal.

This groundbreaking series marks the first time the famed director has supported a project about his work and includes exclusive interviews, unpublished artworks and a never-before-seen stop-motion short film.

The docuseries reveals the life and artistic evolution of visionary filmmaker Tim Burton through intimate conversations with his closest collaborators, in-depth looks at his semi-autobiographical characters and films, and his countless artworks of similar nature. It is a tribute to Burton's tireless imagination, the collective spirit of his artistic family, and the countless dreamers he continues to inspire. The series features interviews with Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Danny Elfman, Danny DeVito, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Walken, Mia Wasikowska and more.

The first episode of the series screened at the 2024 Tribeca Festival as a sneak peek, where it received great acclaim.



Director Tara Wood’s documentaries are renowned for exploring a director’s creative journey and highlighting the inspirational impact of their career. She previously directed QT8: THE FIRST EIGHT about the work of Quentin Tarantino and co-directed, 21 YEARS: RICHARD LINKLATER, covering the director’s prolific film career.



Producers are Tara Wood, Joe Clarke, and Jake Zortman. Executive Producers are Allen Gilmer, Riki Rushing, Berge Garabedian and Robert C. McGirr and Lorraine Lamb.
