Family Ties Get Freaky in Netflix’s New Animated Series Haunted Hotel

From the creators of Rick & Morty, the afterlife gets an upgrade this fall

There’s dysfunctional family drama—and then there’s ghost co-parenting your way through the afterlife. Netflix just unveiled first-look images for Haunted Hotel, a brand-new adult animated comedy that premieres September 19th and comes from Rick & Morty producer Matt Roller and the chaotic minds of Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, and Steve Levy.

Starring Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson, the series follows a single mom of two doing her best to keep her family—and business—afloat while running a rundown haunted hotel. The twist? Her estranged brother, who helps her manage the property, is also one of the ghosts. And he thinks the rest of the ghouls might actually have some pretty solid ideas.

With supervising director Erica Hayes (Rick & Morty) and animation handled by the ever-reliable Titmouse (Big Mouth, The Venture Bros.), expect maximum weirdness, big laughs, and deeply cursed hospitality.

Whether you’re here for the deadpan one-liners, the paranormal parenting, or just the latest adult toon to drop into your fall binge rotation, Haunted Hotel looks like a check-in worth making.

Stay tuned for the official trailer soon, and scroll below for those hauntingly hilarious first-look images.
