Horror Tease "1978" from the Onetti Brothers



Black Mandala recently shared first-look images of "1978," the latest film from the Onetti Brothers. Set during a World Cup match between Argentina and Holland, the film follows a group of youths who are kidnapped and taken to a detention center, only to discover something more sinister is at play. "1978" had a Work-In-Progress screening at Cannes and will be released internationally on the festival circuit in October. Check out the new images and stay tuned for more updates!


Black Mandala Films presents the first images of the new horror movie “1978”, directed by Luciano and Nicolás Onetti ( “ABRAKADABRA”, “WHAT THE WATERS LEFT BEHIND”).


The WIP of the film had its world premiere at Marché du Film (Cannes Film Festival) during the Blood Window Showcase. “1978” will start the international festival circuit in October with big announcements coming soon.


Synopsis:


During the World Cup final between Argentina and Holland, in times of military dictatorship, a group of torturers violently breaks into a home and kidnaps a group of young people to take them to a clandestine detention center.


What begins as an inhumane interrogation turns into a true martyrdom: the wrong group of people have been kidnapped. They turn out to be part of a macabre cult guided by an unknown supernatural force. The clandestine detention center will become hell itself...




The film stars a multi-star cast: Agustín Pardella (“Society of the Snow” – Oscar nominated), Carlos Portaluppi (“Argentina 1985” – Oscar nominated), Mario Alarcón (“The Secret in their Eyes”, Oscar Winner), Agustin Olcese (“What the Waters Left Behind”), Jorge Lorenzo (“El Marginal”), Santiago Ríos (“Tumberos”), Gustavo Bonfigli (“Wild Tales”), Paula Silva (“Virus 32”), Gustavo Pardi (“El Marginal”).
