Chloe Carroll and Anna Hindman ignite a seductive vampire tale in HOW FAR DOES THE DARK GO?, premiering at Queer Screams.

The countdown is on for the World Premiere of Bears Rebecca Fonte’s HOW FAR DOES THE DARK GO?, debuting August 2 at the Queer Screams Film Festival in Portland. Paired with a sizzling new teaser trailer and a bold, pulpy poster, this seductive supernatural tale is gearing up to be a must-see for fans of queer horror and throwback genre aesthetics.

Paying tribute to mid-century Technicolor thrillers while lacing in a sharp, modern soundtrack, Fonte’s film is equal parts romance, camp, and supernatural tension. Fronted by uninhibited performances from Chloe Carroll and Anna Hindman, and featuring Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager) as a dying human at the center of its twisted love triangle, this is vampire cinema with both bite and swagger.

The film follows Grace (Hindman), a morphine-addicted nurse whose bleak existence takes a sinister turn when she’s kidnapped by Evienne (Carroll), a vampire haunting Philadelphia’s forgotten subway tunnels. Tasked with caring for Evienne’s dying human son Henry (Picardo), Grace finds herself entangled in a dangerous mix of forbidden attraction and moral compromise. As their bond deepens, Grace is drawn into a bloody underworld of vengeful exes, vigilante slayers, and a temptation that threatens to swallow her humanity whole.

Fonte injects queer horror with sensuality and menace, delivering a film that asks: When desire is this powerful, do you even want to be saved?
