Written and directed by Andrew Mudge, The Arborist centers on Ellie, a grief-stricken arborist trying to rebuild her life alongside her son, Wyatt, after an unthinkable loss. When the pair are hired by reclusive landowner Arthur Randolph to fell trees on his vast, isolated estate, the work initially seems straightforward—until the forest begins pushing back.

As the trees come down, Wyatt starts exhibiting erratic behavior, plagued by disturbing visions and creature-like hallucinations. What begins as a slow-burn psychological unraveling soon reveals a deeper, buried tragedy tied to the land itself. A long-dormant haunting awakens, and Arthur’s true reason for hiring Ellie and her son comes into terrifying focus.
