One of the standout indie thrillers we had the pleasure of watching this summer was Andrew Bell’s Bleeding, a gripping vampire blood thriller that delivers an emotional and visceral punch.
The film follows Eric, a 17-year-old grappling with the overdose death of his brother. When his cousin Sean, the reckless son of an alcoholic cop, gets entangled in the dangerous world of dealing Blood—a mysterious and addictive substance—Eric will stop at nothing to save him from a similar fate.
With mounting debt to a ruthless dealer, Eric and Sean break into an abandoned house searching for a solution. What they find is far from what they expected—a girl locked in the house, whose presence ties them to a dangerous past and forces them to confront new threats.
Bleeding masterfully intertwines themes of addiction, heartbreak, and resilience. Producer Bofan Zhang explains, “It’s a personal reminder of the fragility and resilience of the human spirit, finding light in those moments of darkness—a message that’s needed now more than ever.”
Attendees of Dancing With Films NY can catch Bleeding on Friday, December 6th. Previously showcased at Grimmfest 2024, this is your chance to experience an unforgettable end-of-season thriller in NYC.
The film is written, directed, and produced by Andrew Bell, with additional production by Nicholas Payne Santos, Bofan Zhang, and Kenneth Green. Bleeding features cinematography by Daniel Cho, editing by Andrew Bell, and a haunting score by Alex Symcox. A production of 88/90 Films, Bleeding is a must-watch for fans of raw, emotionally charged storytelling.
