Lionsgate is set to debut "Dancing Village: The Curse Begins," a prequel to the record-breaking Indonesian film "KKN DI DESA PENARI" from 2022. Directed by Kimo Stamboel, the story follows a young woman who receives a mystical bracelet and is compelled to return it to a legendary village as strange events unfold. Scheduled for release on April 26th, the film takes viewers on a chilling journey filled with suspense and horror.
In this eerie tale, Mila, guided by a shaman, embarks on a quest to return the Kawaturih bracelet to the remote "Dancing Village" on Java Island's eastern tip. Accompanied by her cousin Yuda and his friends Jito and Arya, Mila finds the village in turmoil following the passing of its elder and the absence of the new guardian, Mbah Buyut. Amidst unsettling occurrences and encounters with the enigmatic Badarawuhi, Mila's decision to return the bracelet alone jeopardizes the village's safety. To make amends, she must participate in a ritual to choose the new "Dawuh," a cursed individual destined to dance for eternity.
