HMU Exclusive: Netflix’s Summer–Fall 2025 Animation Slate Is Pure Fire for Horror, Action, and Anime Fans

Netflix just dropped their full Summer–Fall 2025 animation lineup, and let’s be real—this one’s laser-targeted for HMU heads. Horror. Action. Adult anime madness. If it’s chaotic, violent, emotionally tormented, or just plain outrageous—we’re locked in.

Every time Netflix drops new heat, it’s the adult animation and anime that land straight on our radar, and this season is no different. From SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 to Ari Aster’s favorite cat girl duo (My Melody & Kuromi, obviously), the platform is rolling out a diverse arsenal of shows that hit hard and weird in all the right ways.

And yes—you can peep the new trailer for Melody & Kuromi right now.

THE ADULT ANIMATION LINEUP

Netflix’s upcoming adult animation slate is stacked with sinister comedy, high-concept sci-fi, and enough existential dread to make Rick & Morty seem wholesome. HMU fans, mark your calendars:

  • August 13 – FIXED

Genndy Tartakovsky’s jaw-dropping adult dog comedy finally lands. It’s horny. It’s hand-drawn. It’s been raising hell since its Annecy premiere.

  • August 22 – LONG STORY SHORT

BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg returns with another sharp, emotional, neurotic slice of animated genius.

  • September 19 – HAUNTED HOTEL

From the team behind Rick & Morty, this new adult comedy blends family trauma and ghostly nonsense in a black-and-white bed-and-breakfast from hell.

  • Fall 2025 – TOM CLANCY’S SPLINTER CELL: DEATHWATCH

Sam Fisher is back in an anime-style spy thriller that dives deep into stealth warfare and cyber paranoia. First look footage at Annecy already gave us chills.

THE ANIME WE’RE OBSESSED WITH

You already know we keep anime in heavy rotation, and Netflix just handed us a feast. Weekly drops? Feature-length films? A Mononoke sequel? Let’s go.

  • July 3 – DAN DA DAN S2 (Weekly Episodes)

The psychic vs alien showdown returns. More chaos, more nosebleeds, more wild pacing.

  • July 5 – The Summer Hikaru Died (Weekly Episodes)

Creepy rural horror meets young love. Don’t say we didn’t warn you—this one’s deeply unsettling.

  • July 10 – Leviathan

Sci-fi scale meets emotional trauma in a deep space thriller that feels like Blame! meets Alien.

  • July 14 – SAKAMOTO DAYS Part 2 (Weekly Episodes)

The best ex-hitman comedy-action anime on the planet continues. More assassins. More convenience store chaos.

  • July 24 – My Melody & Kuromi

This goth girl fever dream anime spin-off is for fans of Aggretsuko, emotional damage, and pastel vengeance.

  • August 14 – Mononoke the Movie: Chapter II – The Ashes of Rage

It’s official. The return of one of the most visually breathtaking horror anime franchises gets its long-awaited second chapter.

  • September – Pokémon Concierge (New Episodes)

Stop-motion Pokémon slice-of-life joy continues. Less battles, more vibes.

  • Later This Year – The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity

A gentle but poignant romance-drama. Mark it for wind-down mode after all the blood and trauma above.

Netflix’s second-half 2025 animation slate hits every note for HMU fans. If you love messy protagonists, disturbing horror, surreal humor, or visual insanity—this is your summer and fall watchlist.

🧟‍♀️ Horror.

🔫 Action.

🍜 Anime.

🎉 Chaos.

I recently dove into the new adult animation lineup on Netflix, and wow, it’s such a thrilling mix of horror, action, and dark comedy! Shows like “Haunted Hotel” really captured my attention with their unique blend of eerie and hilarious moments. As a longtime anime fan, I’m especially excited for “Mononoke: Chapter II - The Ashes of Rage.” Its stunning visuals and haunting storylines are perfect for a chilling binge. When I need a break from all the intense watching, I enjoy playing games like Slope Game to unwind-it’s simple but addictively fun!
