The final trailer for Keeper has arrived — and with it, the growing storm of anticipation surrounding Osgood Perkins’ latest dive into supernatural terror. NEON’s new preview teases a haunting, dread-soaked story centered on a couple whose isolation in a sprawling home unravels into a full descent toward madness.
Set for release on November 14, Keeper comes to theaters as the last major horror entry of 2025, positioning itself to dominate year-end conversations. Early buzz has already stirred intrigue: select groups were shown 20 minutes of footage weeks ago, and since then, the film has drawn commentary from Japanese and Korean filmmakers praising Perkins’ command of atmosphere and unease.
Still, some critics — ourselves included — are cautious. As we’ve seen with Perkins’ previous work (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, Longlegs), his vision can sometimes lean too heavily on tone and mystique while letting story momentum fade. The new trailer, while striking and gorgeously constructed, reveals perhaps a bit too much — from its rhythmic sound design to imagery that recalls early 2000s Japanese and Korean horror.
That said, Keeper looks visually stunning and features what may be one of Tatiana Maslany’s most powerful performances to date. Her intensity could prove to be the film’s grounding force, much like the performances that elevated Longlegs earlier this year.
We’ll reserve judgment until opening night — as always. But Keeper has undeniable potential. The supernatural atmosphere feels thick, the setup unnerving, and if Perkins finally connects his aesthetic precision with emotional and narrative weight, Keeper might earn its spot among the year’s strongest genre films.
Keeper hits theaters November 14 from NEON. Whether it’s Osgood Perkins’ redemption arc or just another exercise in style remains to be seen — but one thing’s certain: hell has officially been invited in.
