NEON’s TOGETHER Trailer Teases Intimate Body Horror with Alison Brie and Dave Franco

Alison Brie and Dave Franco in a tense, distorted embrace from the trailer of body horror film TOGETHER
Alison Brie and Dave Franco face monstrous intimacy in NEON’s TOGETHER

Alison Brie and Dave Franco are about to merge — in every way imaginable

The official trailer for TOGETHER has arrived, and it’s as disturbing, intimate, and deeply grotesque as we hoped. Directed by Michael Shanks and backed by NEON, this body horror fever dream stars real-life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco as two lovers trying to salvage their broken relationship after retreating to the countryside — only to be consumed by something far more terrifying than heartbreak.

The film, which turned heads at Sundance and SXSW, now has a theatrical release date of July 30, 2025 — but the trailer gives us plenty to chew on in the meantime.

From the first frames, there’s a romantic warmth laced with dread. But as the trailer unfolds, we witness something far more sinister taking root — a transformation that blurs the line between emotional co-dependence and physical fusion. At first it’s subtle: matching words, mirrored movements, a closeness that feels off. And then… it’s not.

The trailer reveals just enough of the horror beneath the skin — eye-to-eye mutations, distorted intimacy, and flashes of body horror that suggest this is less marriage therapy and more psychosexual meltdown. But (and this is a big BUT), some fans — including us here at HMU — are worried the trailer gives too much away. There’s a lot shown in these two minutes, and while it’s visually arresting, we hope there are more surprises buried deeper in the flesh of the final cut.

Still, with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score from early festival reviews, and the palpable real-life chemistry between Brie and Franco, TOGETHER is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most talked-about horror releases.

If you’re into elevated relationship trauma, visceral metaphor, and body horror with soul, this might just be your new favorite date-night nightmare.

TOGETHER opens in theaters July 30 via NEON.

Watch the official trailer now — but maybe not with your partner.
