As mentioned this morning on The Final Cut, the studio has just released the official trailer—and it’s nothing short of jaw-dropping. Nick Offerman takes on a role unlike anything we’ve seen from him before, portraying a father entrenched in a dangerous ideology.

Sovereign follows Jerry (Offerman) and his teenage son Joseph (Jacob Tremblay), who travel across the country hosting seminars promoting the Sovereign Citizen belief system—a radical, anti-government ideology grounded in a deep distrust of institutional authority. Their journey brings them face-to-face with small-town Police Chief Jim Bouchart (Dennis Quaid), whose confrontation with the pair sparks a tragic and shocking chain of events.
