TRAILER DEBUT: SHUDDER’S ‘PUSH’ PROMISES BLOOD, BIRTH, AND BRUTALITY — ARRIVES JULY 11

Raúl Castillo and Alicia Sanz star in the home invasion thriller from the directors of The Boy Behind the Door

There’s no safe haven in the new trailer for PUSH, the upcoming home invasion thriller that turns open house into a fight for survival. Set to premiere July 11th exclusively on Shudder, this high-stakes pressure cooker from writer-director duo David Charbonier and Justin Powell marks a return to the kind of intimate, claustrophobic horror that made The Boy Behind the Door one of HMU’s all-time favorites.

Alicia Sanz (El Cid) leads the story as Natalie Flores, a grieving woman eight months pregnant, trying to rebuild her life after the loss of her fiancé. Hoping for a fresh start, she moves to America and takes on a real estate gig—only to catch the attention of a sadistic predator lurking in plain sight.

Raúl Castillo (Smile 2, Cha Cha Real Smooth) plays against type with terrifying precision, delivering what might be one of the most unsettling home-invasion villains of the year. When Natalie becomes stranded at the listing, her body goes into premature labor—turning a violent game of survival into a psychological countdown where time, pain, and panic are racing toward impact.

The trailer doesn’t flinch: bloody handprints, broken windows, and tense breathing between contractions underscore that this isn’t just a thriller—it’s a visceral gut-punch with teeth. Raúl Castillo looks unhinged in the best way possible, and Sanz appears to give a raw, relentless performance that grounds the horror in real-world trauma and maternal fear.

Following up the acclaimed double-hitter of The Djinn and The Boy Behind the Door, Charbonier and Powell seem locked in on stories where children and women are cornered, isolated, and forced to endure the unthinkable. Push continues that thematic streak, but with a new angle: what happens when survival and childbirth collide in the same hour?

Push premieres July 11 on Shudder. The trailer is out now—and if you loved Inside, Hush, or The Boy Behind the Door, this one’s got your name all over it.

Don’t just watch the house. Survive it.

Sign up or log in to Shudder for access to Push on July 11.
