RZA and Tyler Bates Drop Score for One Spoon of Chocolate, Out May 1
A new collaboration is arriving across digital platforms as RZA and Tyler Bates release the original motion picture score for One Spoon of Chocolate on May 1, 2026 via Gravel and Echo Recordings.
The score serves as a companion piece to the film of the same name, extending its tone through a mix of orchestral composition and raw, percussive elements. Built around contrast, the music moves between restrained emotional passages and more aggressive, high-impact sequences.

The collaboration brings together two distinct approaches. RZA, known for his work with the Wu-Tang Clan and his film scoring background, pairs with Bates, whose credits span action and genre films. The result is a soundtrack designed to reflect both the narrative intensity and emotional range of the film.
One Spoon of Chocolate is positioned as an exploitation-inspired action thriller, drawing from grindhouse traditions while focusing on themes of revenge, systemic violence, and personal survival. The score mirrors that structure, shifting between tension, grief, and escalation.
The film follows Unique, an Army veteran attempting to rebuild his life after wrongful imprisonment. His relocation to a small town reveals a deeper conflict, leading to a chain of events centered on retaliation and control.
Presented by Quentin Tarantino, the project leans into a stylized, high-impact approach both visually and sonically.
In addition to its digital release, the score will also be available as a limited 180-gram vinyl edition, signed by both RZA and Bates.
The One Spoon of Chocolate original score will be available on all major streaming platforms beginning May 1.
