REDUX REDUX Lands with Saban Films for Theatrical Release
One of our favorite films out of SXSW 2025, Redux Redux, just locked in a distribution deal with Saban Films—and trust us, horror fans should be paying attention.
Directed by brothers Kevin and Matthew McManus (American Vandal, The Block Island Sound), Redux Redux is a relentless sci-fi thriller that spins grief, obsession, and multiverse carnage into one of the year’s wildest rides. It follows Irene Kelly (played by Michaela McManus), a grieving mother who discovers how to travel through parallel universes and uses that power to repeatedly kill the man who murdered her daughter. But as the cycle of revenge intensifies, a sudden cosmic anomaly sends everything spiraling out of control—putting Irene’s sanity and humanity on the line.
A standout in this year’s Midnighter section at SXSW, Redux Redux instantly made waves with its bloody premise, high-concept thrills, and grounded performances. HMU was floored by the film’s emotional weight and gonzo genre swings, and we’re not alone—Saban Films has acquired the North American rights, with a nationwide theatrical release coming later this year.
Michaela McManus leads the cast alongside Jim Cummings (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), Jeremy Holm (Brooklyn 45), Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things), Taylor Misiak (Dave), and rising newcomer Stella Marcus. The film is produced by Mothership Motion Pictures with a team that includes Michael J. McGarry (The Wolf of Snow Hollow), PJ McCabe (The Beta Test), and Nate Cormier (Star Wars: The Bad Batch).
“We couldn’t be happier to be working with Saban for our first film under Mothership Motion Pictures,” said the McManus Brothers. “They’ve been incredibly passionate from day one, and we’re thrilled that audiences will get to experience Redux Redux on the big screen.”
Saban Films’ Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker echoed the excitement: “Redux Redux is an unrelenting display of virtuosic filmmaking. The McManus Brothers are a force, and this film is just the beginning. We’re proud to welcome them into the Saban family.”
The acquisition was brokered by XYZ Films’ Nate Bolotin and Pip Ngo, with Saban Films’ Jonathan Saba handling negotiations on behalf of the distributor.
Stay tuned to HMU for updates on the official release date. One thing’s for sure—this multiverse thriller will leave you questioning how far you’d go for justice.
