Pierre Tsigaridis’ Traumatika Heads to Theaters via Saban Films in 2025

After a global festival run that left horror fans buzzing, Pierre Tsigaridis’ Traumatika has officially been acquired by Saban Films, with a theatrical release set for 2025 in North America. The nightmarish new horror feature marks a reunion between the creative minds behind Two Witches, including co-writer and producer Maxime Rancon, and actress Rebekah Kennedy. Also starring is genre mainstay AJ Bowen (You’re Next, House of the Devil), bringing serious cult credibility to the screen.

Traumatika centers on a young boy named Mikey, whose life is ripped apart when his mother begins to show signs of demonic possession. What begins as a child’s night terrors soon turns into a generational curse, with supernatural forces wreaking havoc across time. As trauma takes root, the line between reality and nightmare blurs in this brutal blend of possession horror, slasher grit, and found footage intensity.

Tsigaridis, who co-wrote and directed the film, describes it as “a deeply sensory experience, aimed at fully immersing fans in our nightmarish world.” Co-President of Saban Films Jonathan Saba adds, “Traumatika is not a movie you see… it’s a movie you experience. It’s hard to prepare yourself for the disturbing brilliance that Pierre and Maxime have unleashed.”

Maxime Rancon, who also serves as executive producer and founder of The Rancon Company, calls the film “a love letter to the horror subgenres we grew up watching and obsessing over. It’s twisted, relentless, and made by fans, for fans—definitely not for the faint of heart.”

The cast also includes Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs), Emily Goss (Snapshots), Ranen Navat, and Susan Gayle Watts.

Following its world premiere at FrightFest 2024, Traumatika screened at top genre fests including SITGES, San Sebastián Horror and Fantasy Film Festival, Mórbido, Fantaspoa, and GrimmFest, earning critical acclaim for its boundary-pushing approach.

Stay tuned for the trailer, poster, and more visuals—including the first official still released today—as Traumatika prepares to terrorize theaters next year.
