Yesterday, filmmakers Michael and Danny Philippou unveiled a chilling first look at their highly anticipated supernatural thriller Bring Her Back. The film, which hits theaters May 30th via A24, explores a terrifying ritual discovered by a brother and sister in the isolated home of their eerie new foster mother.
In the new featurette, the directors dive into the emotional depth of the story, highlighting a haunting performance from Academy Award nominee Sally Hawkins as the foster mother—at once heartbreakingly tender and deeply unsettling. The Philippous tease the film’s darker, more twisted turns, calling it “some seriously f**ked up sh*t” and noting that the ultimate spoiler lies in just how disturbing the story becomes.
With striking visuals and a tone that separates it from their breakout hit Talk To Me, Bring Her Back promises a layered, dread-filled experience. Early glimpses reveal moments of eerie connection between Hawkins and the children—moments that might just be more terrifying than anything supernatural.
Watch the featurette now and prepare for one of the year’s most unnerving cinematic experiences when Bring Her Back arrives in theaters May 30.
