Sean Hogan’s ‘The Dark Gets In’ Sets World Premiere at Beyond Fest 2026

Sean Hogan’s latest horror feature, The Dark Gets In, will make its world premiere at Beyond Fest 2026, with the writer-director set to attend a post-screening Q&A in Los Angeles.
The film will screen Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. PT at the MUBI Theater at Los Feliz 3 as part of this year’s Beyond Fest lineup.
Written and directed by Hogan and produced by Evrim Ersoy, The Dark Gets In follows a documentary crew investigating the unexplained disappearance of a young girl.
What begins as an attempt to uncover the circumstances surrounding the case takes an increasingly disturbing turn as the filmmakers find themselves drawn deeper into a mystery that leads them toward something far more horrifying than they anticipated.
The world premiere is part of Beyond Fest’s Los Feliz 3 programming, which continues the festival’s emphasis on emerging filmmakers and genre discoveries. The screening will be followed by an in-person Q&A with Hogan.
Hogan has worked across horror as a filmmaker, writer and producer, while Ersoy has been a longtime presence within genre cinema through filmmaking, programming and curation.
Beyond Fest 2026 runs Sept. 23 through Oct. 6 in Los Angeles, with this year’s program encompassing 81 feature films across its slate of premieres, restorations, retrospectives and special events.
The Dark Gets In makes its world premiere Friday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. PT at the MUBI Theater at Los Feliz 3, located at 1822 N. Vermont Ave. in Los Angeles. Writer-director Sean Hogan will participate in a Q&A following the screening.
