After going to more than 60 festivals all over the world, EL SEMBLANTE (FACIES), directed by Raúl Cerezo and Carlos Moriana, will screen on Saturday October 8, at 8pm. This intense horror thriller will be part of the Brigadoon Official Selection section of the Sitges Festival - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia – the world’s premier fantastic film festival, whose 55th edition will run from October 6 to 16. It will also compete for the Paul Naschy Brigadoon Award.
FACIES, a story born out of Raul Cerezo’s obsession with the torture instruments of The Inquisition, broke all records for nominations for the Fugaz Awards in 2022: no fewer than 13, winning in 4 categories. It has, to date, won over ten prizes, among them several for best short and best script.
The cast includes Daniel Ortiz, recently nominated for Best Actor for the Premios Fugaz, for his role in EL SEMBLANTE (FACIES), where he plays the master torturer. He is known for his roles in TV series such as Vis-a-vis, Instinto, Justo antes de Cristo and Madres, as well as in feature films and shorts such as No habrá paz para los malvados, La guarida and La penumbra; Carlos Santos, Goya Best New Actor Award winner in 2017 for his role in El hombre de las mil caras, who plays the inquisitor, which earned him a prize at the Laguardia-Biasteri (province of Alava) Town Council short film festival; and Lucía Díez, actress from Madrid, who plays the master torturer’s daughter, and who is known for her roles in series such as La catedral del mar, Velvet Colección and El Cid.
