Looking for something different from this year’s Oscar contenders? Get ready for Blood in Them Hills, a western-styled horror film from Christopher Sheffield and Kellen Garner, now available on demand from Uncork’d Entertainment. Blending outlaw action, Wendigo mythology, and cannibalistic terror, the film delivers a bloody, supernatural ride through the Old West.
The story follows a bank heist gone wrong, leaving three unlikely survivors—a cunning bank robber, a vengeance-driven doctor, and a midwife with a rescued baby—stranded in the harsh wilderness. But their biggest challenge isn’t just survival—it’s the demonic massacre site they’ve stumbled upon. Haunted by a relentless Wendigo, a gang of murderous outlaws, and the horrors of the untamed frontier, the group must band together to escape the dark forces that lurk in the hills.
Co-directed by Sheffield (Split Lip, Bite the Dust) and Garner (Royals’ Revenge, The View From Here), Blood in Them Hills was filmed at the Rawhide Western Town in Chandler, Arizona, as well as the snowy peaks of the White Mountains, providing an authentic Old West atmosphere that heightens the film’s immersive, eerie tension. The cast features Kellen Garner, Aria Song (Yellowstone), Chade Green (Royals’ Revenge), Chris Cleveland (The Prestige), George Nelson (Bite the Dust), and Ruby Garner.
“There’s so much to explore in the supernatural Western genre,” say directors Sheffield and Garner, adding that the film takes audiences on a thrilling, eerie journey into the darker side of frontier storytelling.
Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment, describes the film as a gripping blend of classic Western intensity and supernatural horror, making it a must-see for genre fans. Blood in Them Hills is available now on demand, so check out the trailer and let us know if you’ll be watching!
