‘Talk to Me’ Spinoff ‘I Let You In’ Brings Immersive Horror to Meta

The world of Talk to Me is expanding beyond the movie screen and into virtual reality with I Let You In, a six-episode immersive horror series being developed exclusively for Meta.
Set within the universe of Danny and Michael Philippou’s breakout horror film, the new project moves its spirit-conjuring nightmare to Ibiza, where another group of young people discovers that communicating with the dead can become dangerously addictive.
According to the official description, I Let You In follows “a group of young travelers chasing the ultimate party in Ibiza as they become hooked on the thrill of conjuring spirits — a supernatural high deadlier than any drug.”
The series is directed by Craig William Macneill, whose television credits include Them and The Terror. Trent Atherton wrote the screenplay based on a pitch created by Atherton and Darren Brandl.
Aubri Ibrag (The Buccaneers), Charlotte Maggi (Rebel Moon), Sofia Hublitz (Ozark), Julio Peña (Berlin), Raff Law (Masters of the Air) and Charlie Hiscock (Ted Lasso) lead the ensemble.
Meta has also revealed a first look at the project, which was conceived specifically as a fully immersive experience rather than a conventional television spinoff. The six episodes will be available exclusively through Meta’s Quest ecosystem, including its headsets and upcoming VR glasses, which are expected to launch in spring 2027.
That format could prove particularly suited to the mechanics established by Talk to Me. The original film centered on teenagers using an embalmed hand to commune with spirits, turning possession into a party game and increasingly dangerous social ritual. Moving that concept into an immersive environment potentially places the audience much closer to the séance rather than leaving viewers safely outside it.
Released in 2023 following its Sundance premiere, Talk to Me became a major breakout for Australian filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou. The film ultimately earned more than $90 million worldwide, establishing a horror universe built around the dangerously seductive experience of contacting the dead.
I Let You In appears to retain that fundamental idea while shifting the setting and characters. Instead of simply recreating the original film’s story, the Ibiza backdrop allows the series to explore spirit communication through another environment built around partying, experimentation and escalating risk.
Causeway Films, which produced Talk to Me, is returning for the project. The Australian production company’s genre credits also include The Babadook, Bring Her Back and The Nightingale, along with Housekeeping for Beginners and Leviticus.
The series was commissioned by Meta and is being produced by XRTV, the newly formed immersive studio from Brandl and Jack Davis. Production has already wrapped on all six episodes following filming in Spain earlier this year, with I Let You In currently in post-production.
Plans for a 3D Talk to Me spinoff were initially announced in October 2025, but the newly revealed title, premise and first look provide a much clearer picture of how the project intends to expand the franchise.
Brandl and Davis executive produce for XRTV alongside Samantha Jennings, Kristina Ceyton and Daniel Negret for Causeway Films. Danny and Michael Philippou are also executive producers, while Jeff Rich, Sara Malkin, Martha Tian and Eric Cheng executive produce for Meta. Andreas Michael Wentz and Juan Antonio Cano Trujillo executive produce for Sur Film.
For Talk to Me, the transition to immersive horror represents an unusual expansion of a modern genre property. Rather than immediately retelling its supernatural mythology through another conventional screen series, I Let You In is attempting to make the audience part of the experience.
Considering the original film turned the temptation to say “talk to me” and invite something inside into a terrifying game among friends, putting viewers directly in the room could make that invitation considerably harder to escape.
