Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson are about to prove opposites do more than attract — they explode. A brand-new poster has just dropped for The Pickup, Tim Story’s latest action-comedy set to hit Prime Video on August 6, 2025. Packed with heavy hitters and hijinks, the film mashes up old-school chops with Gen-Z chaos, bringing Murphy and Davidson together in a buddy comedy that promises laughs, bullets, and one wildly botched job.
Directed by The Blackening and Ride Along helmer Tim Story, The Pickup blends quickfire comedy with explosive set-pieces in a world where the “routine” never stays that way. Eddie Murphy plays Russell, a seasoned armored truck driver with no time for nonsense. Davidson’s Travis? Let’s just say he brings the nonsense. When the duo is ambushed during what should’ve been a basic pickup, they’re forced into a deadly game orchestrated by a cunning mastermind named Zoe — played by Keke Palmer like she’s been waiting for a villain role her whole life.
The film also boasts an ensemble of scene-stealers: Eva Longoria, NFL beast Marshawn Lynch, wrestling icon Roman Reigns (Joe Anoa’i), Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova all join the fray, turning what starts as a simple job into a full-blown street war of jokes, shootouts, and shifting alliances.
The Pickup isn’t just about action — it’s about rhythm. That Murphy/Davidson chemistry anchors the film, ping-ponging between sarcasm and sincerity while Keke Palmer chews up the screen with menace and charisma. If Beverly Hills Cop met Pineapple Express in a locked truck with the door blown off, this might be what crawls out laughing.
Check out the new poster drop and let us know — are you riding shotgun with The Pickup on August 6?
