The Way of the Gun Reloads in 4K with New Steelbook Release This June

Christopher McQuarrie’s The Way of the Gun is firmly the latter. And now, 25 years after its debut, Lionsgate is giving the cult favorite the steelbook 4K UHD treatment it deserves, complete with Dolby Vision, legacy extras, and a fresh coat of carnage-ready polish.

Set to release on June 17, 2025, The Way of the Gun feels tailor-made for reappraisal in a time when every slick, stylized action film seems to get a streaming debut and a meme cycle before it’s even in theaters. This one? It never cared about cool. It was cool. Phillippe and Del Toro move through the film like stray dogs looking for redemption in all the wrong places—dirty, desperate, and armed to the teeth.
