BUFFALO 8 BRINGS THE BLOODY CHAOS OF THE WEEDHACKER MASSACRE
TO DIGITAL OCTOBER 17
Why try to be original when you can bleed out on camera like every other slasher before you?
From horror legend Allen Danziger (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) comes a meta-indie bloodbath with tongue planted firmly in cheek. The Weedhacker Massacre follows a cursed film shoot where the cast and crew are mysteriously picked off one by one. It’s a slasher movie… inside a slasher movie… and the killer doesn’t care if they’re on or off script.
Premiering earlier this year at the Golden State Film Festival, The Weedhacker Massacre has racked up a number of indie accolades, including:
Best Comedy – New York International Film Awards
Awards of Merit – Best Song, Best Actor (IndieFEST)
Awards of Recognition – Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress
Semi-finalist nods from Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and Chicago Filmmaker Awards
The indie slasher features an ensemble cast of indie notables:
David Treviño (Rent Free, Storage Locker)
Molly Sakonchick (Storage Locker)
Bobbie Grace (Fear the Walking Dead, Velocity Girl)
Sean Reyna
Parrish Randall (Circus of the Dead, The Goldilocks)
And horror OG Allen Danziger himself as the bizarre Sheriff Danzinshoos
The film was directed by Jody Stelzig, co-created by Danziger and Ray Spivey, and written/produced by Spivey. Danziger also serves as executive producer.
With a runtime of 1:35:36 and proudly unrated, The Weedhacker Massacre is for horror fans who love their gore with a side of self-awareness.
Watch the trailer, and let us know if this one earns a scream or a chuckle. Either way—somebody’s not making it to the wrap party.
Streaming on digital October 17, 2025 from Buffalo 8.
