UK Horror flick "The Damned" and others announced in 2024 Tribeca Film Festival full line up


ANNOUNCING THE STAR-STUDDED FEATURES SLATE OF THE 2024 TRIBECA FESTIVAL!


As warmer temperatures signal the approach of summer, anticipation builds among festival-goers in NYC for the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival. Today marks the unveiling of the official full film slate, offering a diverse range of cinematic experiences. Among them, dark comedies like "The Shallow Tale of A Writer Who Decided to Write About A Serial Killer" pique interest, while horror aficionados eagerly await offerings such as Thordur Palsson's "The Damned". Described on Tribeca's website as a gripping tale of survival and guilt, "The Damned" follows Eva, faced with a fateful decision when a ship sinks near her isolated fishing post. Directed by Thordur Palsson and written by Jamie Hannigan, the film stars Odessa Young and Joe Cole. Experience the creativity of 114 filmmakers from 48 countries, presenting 103 compelling features, including anticipated titles like Jazzy with Lily Gladstone, Daddio starring Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn, Firebrand starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law, and BRATS, directed by Andrew McCarthy, featuring Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, and more!


Our Spotlight+ series offers live events that enhance the film viewing experience, featuring performances by artists such as Renée Elise Goldsberry and Linda Perry following the world premieres of their respective films Satisfied and Linda Perry: Let It Die Here.


As part of our commitment to films that inspire change, this year we spotlight critical documentaries on global issues and personal stories that challenge societal norms. Our Opening Night event features the world premiere of Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge, an intimate look at the life of the iconic fashion designer and cultural luminary, capturing her impact as a creative icon who challenged the status quo.


The 2024 Tribeca Festival also reflects our activist roots, with a slate of films that speak to today’s political climate and showcase our belief that art can spark change, particularly in the aftermath of global conflicts. This year's Festival will include powerful narratives like The Cranes Call, spotlighting war crimes investigators led by Amal and George Clooney, and Antidote, which digs into the truth about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime.
