Halloween Comes Early: V/H/S Franchise Returns October 3rd with New Filmmaker Lineup
You can feel it in the air—fall is creeping up, and with it comes one of horror’s most reliable traditions: the V/H/S franchise. After blowing minds last year with a sci-fi-soaked gore anthology, the next chapter is set to bring the mayhem back home—just in time for Halloween.
The big question every year? Who’s directing. Well, the blood-soaked roster for this upcoming installment has officially been revealed: Bryan M. Ferguson, Casper Kelly, Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman, Alex Ross Perry, Paco Plaza, and Anna Zlokovic will be behind the camera for the new nightmare fuel.
The teaser poster dropped today, giving us just enough to salivate—a toppled jack-o’-lantern, spilled candy corn, and the unmistakable three-letter title that’s become synonymous with boundary-pushing horror.
What We Know About the Filmmakers:
Bryan M. Ferguson, the Scottish director behind Flamingos and the ooey-gooey short Pumpkin Guts, seems tailor-made for a Halloween-themed segment.
Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks, Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell)—who we just spotlighted on The Final Cut for his upcoming feature Buddy—brings his off-the-wall Adult Swim chaos to the mix.
Micheline Pitt-Norman & R.H. Norman, gothic icons and filmmakers with a strong aesthetic vision (check out Hajji and their upcoming feature Cosmetic), are likely to serve up something visually stunning and deeply twisted.
Alex Ross Perry, of Videoheaven and Her Smell, could deliver a mock-doc style segment in line with V/H/S: Beyond’s wraparound energy.
Paco Plaza, the legendary Spanish horror mind behind [REC], is easily the biggest name here. And honestly? We’re ready for him to absolutely destroy us.
Anna Zlokovic, who turned heads with Appendage, rounds out the slate. Her knack for bodily discomfort and unease makes her a perfect fit for the franchise’s brutal legacy.
Expected to premiere in Texas (as tradition goes), the new V/H/S installment hits screens on October 3rd—just in time to ruin your candy-stuffed sleep schedule. More updates and blood-slick details are coming soon.
