The Horror Collective Picks Up ’90s Slasher Throwback 213 Bones Ahead of Cannes Market
A new slasher is entering the international market as The Horror Collective, the genre label under Studio Dome, acquires worldwide rights to 213 Bones and prepares to launch sales at the Cannes Film Festival market.
Directed by Jeffrey Primm, 213 Bones is set in 1993 and follows a group of college students in the Pacific Northwest who become targets of a masked killer. As bodies begin to pile up, suspicion spreads within the group, pushing the survivors to uncover the identity of the killer before it’s too late.
The film leans into classic slasher structure—ensemble cast, escalating tension, and a central mystery—while positioning itself as a throwback to the late-’90s wave of studio horror.
The cast includes Luna Fujimoto, Hunter Nance, Colin Egglesfield, Dean Cameron, Liam Woodrum, Toni Weiss, and Frances Barker McCormick, combining recognizable genre faces with a younger ensemble built around familiar archetypes.

The film made its debut at FrightFest, where early reactions pointed to its nostalgic tone and adherence to the whodunit slasher formula. Its identity is further reinforced through a period-specific soundtrack featuring artists like Chris Cornell, Soundgarden, and The Jesus and Mary Chain, grounding the film firmly in its early ’90s setting.
Visually, the project is anchored by its masked killer design from Jason Baker (The Black Phone, Terrifier 3), giving the film a distinct and marketable antagonist.
The project also carries added weight as the final film from Primm, who passed away shortly after completing the feature. His work on 213 Bones reflects a long-standing interest in the genre, with the film positioned as a direct homage to the slashers that defined a generation.
Produced by John Michaels and Tyler Jon Olsen, with Joyce Schweickert serving as executive producer, the film is being positioned as a commercially viable entry in the current horror market—particularly as audience appetite for slasher films continues to hold, driven in part by the sustained success of legacy franchises.
213 Bones will be introduced to international buyers at Cannes, with The Horror Collective overseeing its global rollout strategy.
