Apocalypse Z: New World on Prime Video
Apocalypse Z: New World sends survivors from the Canary Islands back to the infected mainland when the sequel arrives on Prime Video October 30.

The Apocalypse Z franchise is returning just in time for Halloween, with Apocalypse Z: New World set to arrive on Prime Video October 30.

Also titled Apocalipsis Z: Nuevo Mundo, the film marks the second installment in the post-apocalyptic franchise following Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End. According to the film’s promotional materials, the first installment became Prime Video’s most-watched international Original movie.

The sequel arrives on streaming following its world premiere at the 2026 Sitges Film Festival and U.S. premiere at the 2026 Screamfest Horror Film Festival in Los Angeles.

Carles Torrens returns to direct after helming the first film. Torrens’ additional credits include Sky Rojo and Animal de compañía. Ángel Agudo wrote the screenplay, based on the novels by Manel Loureiro, with Núria Valls and Adrián Guerra producing.

New World shifts the story to the Canary Islands, which have become Europe’s last refuge following the outbreak of the TSJ virus. With supplies becoming increasingly important to the survivors, a special mission is organized to return to the mainland in search of vital resources.

Roberto joins the expedition carrying motives of his own, but the operation quickly develops into another fight for survival. The group must contend with hordes of infected while internal divisions and competing loyalties create additional threats from within.

The sequel continues the franchise’s combination of infection horror, survival drama and large-scale post-apocalyptic action while expanding the story beyond the events of The Beginning of the End. The new setting also places its characters in a society attempting to maintain one of Europe’s remaining safe zones as conditions outside the islands continue to deteriorate.

The cast includes Carlos Alcaide (Killer Book Club), Julia Martínez (Subsuelo), José María Yazpik (Narcos), Berta Vázquez (Vis a Vis) and Mónica López (Rapa).

Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End introduced the franchise’s world following the rapid spread of a rabies-like infection that transforms those affected into aggressive creatures. New World moves the story forward into a landscape where surviving the infected is only one part of the challenge, with the characters also forced to confront questions of trust and how far they are willing to go to protect themselves and others.

With the mainland expedition at the center of the sequel, the story places its survivors between the immediate danger posed by the infected and conflicts within their own group, ultimately confronting them with the choice between individual survival and preserving what remains of their humanity.

Apocalypse Z: New World premieres October 30 exclusively on Prime Video.
