Apple TV is stepping into murkier territory this spring.
The streamer has debuted the official trailer for “Imperfect Women,” a new psychological thriller limited series starring and executive produced by Kerry Washington and Elisabeth Moss. The eight-episode drama premieres globally on Apple TV on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, with the first two episodes dropping at launch and new installments arriving weekly through April 29.
Based on the novel by Araminta Hall, “Imperfect Women” centers on a crime that fractures a decades-long friendship between three women. What begins as a mystery quickly becomes something more intimate and unsettling — an excavation of guilt, betrayal, loyalty and the quiet compromises that shape lives over time. As investigators begin peeling back layers of the case, the truth about these women — and the relationships they believed were unbreakable — begins to unravel.
Washington and Moss headline an ensemble that includes Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, Leslie Odom Jr., Audrey Zahn, Jill Wagner, Rome Flynn, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Violette Linnz, Indiana Elle, Jackson Kelly, Keith Carradine, Ana Ortiz, Wilson Bethel and Sherri Saum.

Created for television by Annie Weisman, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer, the series marks another collaboration between Weisman and Apple following the acclaimed dramedy “Physical.” Moss executive produces alongside Lindsey McManus through Love & Squalor Pictures, while Washington executive produces under her Simpson Street banner with Pilar Savone. Author Araminta Hall and writer Kay Oyegun also serve as executive producers. Lesli Linka Glatter directs and executive produces episodes one, four and five.
From the tone of the trailer, “Imperfect Women” is less interested in surface-level whodunit thrills and more focused on the emotional corrosion beneath friendship — the kind that builds slowly, festers quietly and explodes when no one is prepared for the fallout. Apple has steadily carved out a lane for prestige psychological dramas, and this looks positioned to sit comfortably alongside that slate.
For horror and thriller fans who lean toward slow-burn tension and character-driven unraveling, “Imperfect Women” may be one of the more compelling limited series to watch this spring.
The series premieres March 18, 2026, exclusively on Apple TV.
