ARROW Player’s September Lineup Brings Back-to-School Carnage

Class is in session: Massacre at Central High leads ARROW’s September cult cinema slate.

Cult streamer ARROW Player has dropped its September 2025 schedule, and class is officially in session. From C. Robert Cargill’s drive-in double features to Japanese classics, creature carnage, and rediscovered VHS nightmares, the month’s lineup leans into cult cinema’s most chaotic lessons.

Be Cruel to Your School (Sept. 5)

ARROW sharpens its pencils with a schoolyard setlist that ditches nostalgia for blood, sex, and detention slips written in crimson. Highlights include cult staples like Massacre at Central High, Cutting Class (starring a young Brad Pitt), Ninja Academy, Girls Nite Out, and Dude Bro Party Massacre III. For North American subscribers, Monday Morning and Cutting Class join the roster alongside a fresh HD transfer of Massacre at Central High.

Japanese Heavyweight – 

Proof of the Man

One of the highest-grossing Japanese films of all time makes its way to ARROW. Junya Sato’s Proof of the Man blends whodunnit structure with searing commentary on postwar racial identity, anchored by powerhouse performances from Joe Yamanaka, Mariko Okada, and Toshiro Mifune. Newly restored, it’s a rare chance to revisit one of Japan’s most ambitious cross-cultural mysteries.

C. Robert Cargill Selects (Sept. 12)

Screenwriter and podcaster C. Robert Cargill (Sinister, The Black Phone) curates his own double-bill series with “Cargill Selects,” a love letter to drive-in freedom. His lineup stretches from cult kung fu (Heroes of the East) and exploitation (Dead End Drive-In) to absurdist comedy (Return of the Killer Tomatoes) and modern oddities (Hundreds of Beavers). The program kicks off with the doc At the Drive-In, a tribute to the Mahoning Drive-In’s all-35mm mission.

Creature Features & Drive-In Nights (Sept. 12–19)

Fans of rubber-suit rampages and midnight monster flicks are in for a treat. The UK/US debut of a new 4K restoration of Gorgo leads the charge, alongside The Giant Gila Monster and Roger Corman’s Night of the Blood Beast. On Sept. 19, ARROW spotlights Filipino horror maestro Eddie Romero with Beast of the Yellow Night, Twilight People (starring Pam Grier), and Beyond Atlantis.

Closing Out September (Sept. 26)

As spooky season nears, ARROW closes the month with a trio of cult-horror deep cuts. Dean Alioto’s infamous shot-on-VHS UFO shocker The McPherson Tape returns, joined by surgical body-horror cult favorite American Mary and the unsettling paranoia trip Masking Threshold.
