Award winning Tippett Studios hires Christina Wise as VP of business development

Tippett Studios, an iconic name in the world of sci-fi and fantasy filmmaking, has announced Christina Wise as its new Vice President of Business Development. The award-winning studio, renowned for classics like Jurassic Park and recent hits such as Alien: Romulus, has tasked Wise with overseeing the expansion of its business model as it ventures into developing original intellectual properties.


In her new role, Wise will be responsible for feature film development and production, visual effects production, virtual stage workflows, and new media business development. She will report directly to Tippett Studios’ CEO, Gary Mundell.


Wise brings a wealth of experience to her position. She began her career in Las Vegas, working with Cirque du Soleil as a production assistant on Mystère at Treasure Island. After relocating to Los Angeles, she transitioned to the client side of production, serving as a production executive for Warp Films and New Regency, where she worked on notable films like Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Jumper.


This strategic appointment signals Tippett Studios’ commitment to innovation and growth as it continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and visual effects.


Legendary and Oscar-winning filmmaker Phil Tippett’s Tippett Studio—Tippett is responsible for VFX innovations on iconic hits like JURASSIC PARK and STAR WARS— has hired veteran VFX production executive Christina Wise as Vice President Business Development. Her duties will include feature film development and production for the studio, as well as visual effects production, virtual stage workflow and new media business development. She will report to Tippett CEO Gary Mundell.

Wise is a production executive with over twenty-five years of experience in the entertainment field, spanning theatre, public relations, live events, business development, feature film production and visual effects. She began her career in live entertainment at Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas as a production assistant on Mystère at Treasure Island. After moving to Los Angeles, she worked on the client side as production executive for Warp Films and New Regency on Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Jumper. This last film sparked an interest in visual effects, and she worked for such visual effects houses as MPC, BUF, and MELS Studios in Montreal. Her visual effects production career includes the Oscar-winning films for Best Visual Effects: Blade Runner: 2049 and 1917. Other projects in her visual effects credits file include Wednesday, Dopesick, The Nevers, Agent 47, Twin Peaks: The Return, Call of the Wild, and Artemis Fowl.

Tippett Studio current projects include ALIEN: ROMULUS for 20th Century Studios, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, THE MANDALORIAN, and SKELETON CREW on Disney Plus, LOCKE AND KEY on Netflix, and Marvel Studio’s FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER. Tippett’s animated feature film MAD GOD premiered in 2022 at the Locarno Film Festival and played 20+ festivals and won six awards. It was released theatrically and streaming on Shudder that year. The film’s limited theatrical release grew to include over 130 bookings across North America, and it quickly became one of the most-watched premieres on the network.

Tippett Studio partner PHANTOMFX is a renowned full-service visual effects company based in India, which has won several awards for its impressive work. The company has over 650 employees and is publicly traded on the National Stock Exchange (NSE - EMERGE). They have provided VFX work for many popular movie titles, such as THE AVENGERS, JOKER, FLASH, THE WALKING DEAD FRANCHISE, and OUTLANDER. The company's Chairman and Managing Director is Bejoy Arputharaj.

Phil Tippett is the visionary behind some of cinema’s most iconic characters such as Jabba the Hutt and the Rancor Monster in RETURN OF THE JEDI, the Tauntauns and Wampa in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, the Raptor and T-Rex stop motion puppets in JURASSIC PARK, and the ED-209 from ROBOCOP.
