Battle Cabin Brings Post-Apocalyptic Survival Thriller to Digital September 29

‘Battle Cabin’ Sets September 29 Digital Release From Lionsgate

Lionsgate will release the post-apocalyptic action thriller Battle Cabin on Digital on September 29, bringing together a cast that includes Josh McKenzie, Delaney Tabron, Michael Hurst, Kali Kopae, Rama Marrow, Nell Fisher and Marshall Napier.

Directed by Aaron Falvey and written by Justin Eade, Battle Cabin is set in the aftermath of a massive global attack that has left the world without electricity, functioning government or the basic structures of modern society.

The film follows Kellan, who has established a secure homestead for his family amid the increasingly lawless conditions outside. When he is forced to leave the property in an effort to save his wife, he encounters a group of violent thieves with connections to his past. Protecting his family ultimately requires a carefully constructed defense and an alliance with a hardened warrior.

The newly released trailer offers a closer look at the film’s survival-focused approach, with the collapse of society providing the backdrop for a more contained conflict surrounding Kellan and his family. Guns, drones and increasingly violent confrontations feature prominently in the footage as the homestead becomes central to the fight.

McKenzie’s recent credits include The Hunting Party, La Brea and The Twelve. Tabron previously appeared in Northspur and Spartacus, while Hurst is known for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess. Kopae has appeared in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Heart Eyes and My Life Is Murder.

The ensemble also includes Marrow, who previously appeared in Northspur; Fisher, whose credits include Evil Dead Rise, Bookworm and Stranger Things; and Napier, known for The Light Between Oceans and Babe.

Battle Cabin joins the continuing wave of survival thrillers using the breakdown of modern infrastructure to place smaller groups of characters into isolated conflicts. The trailer keeps much of the larger circumstances surrounding its global catastrophe in the background, instead concentrating on the immediate threats surrounding the family and their homestead.
