Chroma Acquires Sci-Fi Noir The Infinite Husk from Writer-Director Aaron Silverstein

Aaron Silverstein’s sci-fi noir The Infinite Husk starring Peace Ikediuba acquired by Chroma for worldwide 2026 release.
Writer-director Aaron Silverstein’s The Infinite Husk lands at Chroma after acclaimed festival runs at SXSW, Sitges, and SXSW Sydney.

Chroma continues to build its reputation as one of the most exciting new distributors in genre cinema with the worldwide acquisition of The Infinite Husk, the cerebral, atmospheric feature debut from writer-director Aaron Silverstein.

After making its World Premiere at SXSW 2024, the film will next screen at Sitges Film Festival for its International Premiere, followed by SXSW Sydney, before rolling out theatrically and digitally in 2026.

The Infinite Husk follows an alien consciousness named Vel, sent to Earth to spy on one of its own kind. When Vel crash-lands in Los Angeles, she inhabits the body—or “husk”—of a Black woman (played by breakout star Peace Ikediuba). But as Vel’s mission grows more complex, she becomes overwhelmed by the extremes of human existence—love, loss, and the sensory chaos of modern life.

Silverstein’s debut is an elegant collision of sci-fi noir and existential drama, channeling Blade Runner and Under the Skin through the neon glow and isolation of downtown Los Angeles. His haunting score and meticulous visual world mark him as one of the boldest new voices in speculative cinema.

Aaron is the embodiment of the purest nature of independent spirit,” said Ahbra Perry, Vice President of Chroma. “The world he built, the score he created, and the cerebral journey he takes us on in The Infinite Husk are incredible, and ask permission from no one.”

Silverstein, who wrote, directed, and composed the film’s music, added:

“From the moment I met Ahbra, it was clear that Chroma would be the perfect home for The Infinite Husk. I’m proud that Chroma will be an integral part of the mighty support system that will help bring this film to audiences around the world.”

The deal was brokered by Perry for Chroma and Bill Straus of Bridge Independent. Following its festival circuit, The Infinite Husk will open theatrically in early 2026 before expanding into a global digital release.

We caught The Infinite Husk during its SXSW run earlier this year, and it stood out as one of the most quietly profound indie films of the festival. Silverstein’s vision of Los Angeles is stripped of its usual glitz and glamour—grounded instead in realism, melancholy, and a haunting sense of wonder. The result is a deeply human sci-fi story that deserves every bit of attention it’s about to receive.

The Infinite Husk is a striking, thought-provoking debut—and now, with Chroma behind it, it’s finally set to reach the audiences it was destined for.

It was one of those endless, drizzly Tuesday nights. You know the kind. The world outside the window is just a blur of wet asphalt and streaky streetlights, and the only sound is the constant, gentle tap-tap-tap of rain on the air conditioner unit. I was scrolling through my phone, mindlessly flipping between social media apps, feeling that particular brand of boredom that’s heavy, almost suffocating. My friend Mark had been pestering me for weeks to check out this site he uses, www sky247, always joking that I needed to inject a little chaos into my overly planned life. That night, out of sheer, unadulterated tedium, I finally caved. I figured, what’s the worst that could happen? I’d lose a…

“The Infinite Husk” sounds like such a visually rich and thought-provoking film. I love how sci-fi noir continues to push creative boundaries and challenge storytelling norms. That bold, futuristic edge reminds me of the vibe the Cam Ron Pink Fur Hoodie gives — stylish, confident, and unapologetically original.
