Blind Cop 2 Finally Hits VOD After Breakout Festival Run

One of Horror Movies Uncut’s favorite underground festival discoveries is officially headed to VOD. Blind Cop 2, the indie action comedy from writer-director Alec Bonk, arrives on Apple TV, Prime Video, and Fandango at Home on May 29 following a sold out grassroots theatrical roadshow and a strong festival run that helped turn the film into a growing cult favorite.

The film follows a grieving blind police officer investigating a wave of illegal weapons trafficking after the death of his former partner sends him spiraling into alcoholism and chaos. As his search uncovers deeper corruption tied to the city’s criminal underworld, Blind Cop is forced outside the law to stop a larger threat before violence overtakes the streets.

Directed by Alec Bonk and produced by Natalia Marty, Gaston Benitez, and Bonk himself, Blind Cop 2 leans heavily into the spirit of classic VHS-era action films while simultaneously parodying the genre’s excesses. The project openly embraces over-the-top violence, absurdist comedy, and retro action aesthetics inspired by films like RoboCop and Predator.

George Fearing stars as Blind Cop alongside Brandon Despain, Isaac McKinnon, and Demingo Graham. Fearing performs many of his own stunts throughout the film, helping anchor the movie’s practical action approach.

The film has already built momentum on the festival circuit, collecting nine awards including Best Film at Fantaspoa’s Midnight Competition while selling out screenings during its U.S. roadshow. HMU previously caught the film during its festival run, where it quickly became one of the standout indie action discoveries in the crowd.

Bonk described the project as both a satire and celebration of action cinema while questioning the morality often buried underneath traditional action heroes and revenge narratives.

At 83 minutes, Blind Cop 2 delivers a fast-moving blend of grindhouse energy, practical stunt work, and chaotic genre filmmaking that feels intentionally pulled from another era of late night VHS rentals and cult movie marathons.
