Daniel Stamm's Lockbox Unleashes First Trailer and Poster Ahead of July Theatrical Release

A sinister new horror thriller is heading to theaters this summer as the first trailer and poster for Lockbox have officially arrived.

Directed by Daniel Stamm, the filmmaker behind The Last Exorcism and Prey for the Devil, the upcoming supernatural thriller opens exclusively in theaters on July 3 and appears poised to continue the director's fascination with stories centered on faith, trauma, and forces that refuse to stay buried.

The newly released trailer offers a dark and unsettling glimpse into a story built around grief, isolation, and an evil presence determined to break free.

The film follows Ellen, played by Carla Gugino, who retreats to a quiet rural town following the death of her mother. Hoping to find peace, she takes in her severely traumatized cousin Winthrop and attempts to build some semblance of normalcy.

That fragile stability begins to crumble when a troubled neighbor warns Ellen that Winthrop may be far more dangerous than he appears.

As increasingly strange and disturbing events begin to unfold around them, Ellen finds herself forced into a desperate fight against an otherworldly entity that appears determined to reach Winthrop at any cost.

The trailer leans heavily into psychological dread and supernatural tension, presenting a series of ominous images and escalating encounters that suggest Lockbox will blend emotional trauma with supernatural horror. The film's tagline, "Evil Wants Out," offers a clear indication that whatever force is lurking within the story is not content to remain contained.

Carla Gugino leads the cast following acclaimed genre performances in The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald's Game, and The Fall of the House of Usher. She is joined by Lou Taylor Pucci, known to horror fans from Evil Dead and Touch Me.

Genre fans will also recognize Katharine Isabelle, whose horror credentials include Ginger Snaps. Isabelle recently appeared in Backrooms, making Lockbox another notable genre release on her growing résumé.

The screenplay comes from writers Soren Narnia and Justin Yoffe, while production is handled by Dark Castle Entertainment alongside producer Kearie Peak.

From the footage shown in the first trailer, Lockbox appears firmly rooted within the atmosphere and tension that have defined much of Stamm's horror work. The combination of rural isolation, psychological uncertainty, and a relentless supernatural threat creates the foundation for what could be one of the darker genre offerings arriving this summer.

Lockbox opens exclusively in theaters on July 3.

Carla Gugino and Lou Taylor Pucci are a fantastic pairing for a slow-burn supernatural threat. Can't wait to see how Stamm builds the tension in Lockbox—I've been following updates on https://veovideoai.com
