In the chaos of Panic Fest coverage and the CinemaCon news deluge, we managed to carve out a moment to dive into Dreamcrusher, the new interactive murder mystery series from director Gavin Michael Booth, streaming now on Reveel.
The show kicks off with the tragic story of rising pop star Gwyn Thompson (played by Brittany Charlotte Smith), who’s trying to reinvent herself—new sound, new image, new hair—just in time for her breakout performance. But before she even hits the stage, Gwyn is found brutally murdered. Yeah, that’s right: dead before the spotlight can even hit her.
We first mentioned Dreamcrusher a few weeks back, along with the interactive contest where viewers who solve the mystery can win $100,000. Now with two episodes available, the game is on.
Episode one drops a few characters who should immediately land on your suspect board: an ex-lover, a bitter ex-bandmate, a pushy stage mom (not even hers), and an assistant barely holding things together backstage. Gwyn clearly has a lot more on her mind than the music. Her focus is fractured, her energy off—and someone knows it.
The first episode smartly shifts tone halfway through, giving us a taste of just how layered this mystery is going to be. Every glance, every lyric, every ad may be a clue. I’m heading into episode two to start piecing it all together—and if you’re watching along, you should be too.
Dreamcrusher is now streaming exclusively on Reveel.net. Watch, play detective, and maybe solve the case before I do. We’ll be back soon to see how deep this pop star rabbit hole goes.
