Elizabeth Olsen Joins Kristen Stewart & Oscar Isaac in Panos Cosmatos’ FLESH OF THE GODS

The shimmering nightscape of 1980s Los Angeles just got a little more electric. In a casting announcement that should excite both arthouse and genre fans alike, WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen has officially joined Flesh of the Gods, the upcoming thriller from visionary filmmaker Panos Cosmatos (Mandy), alongside Kristen Stewart and Oscar Isaac. Written by Se7en scribe Andrew Kevin Walker, based on a story he developed with Cosmatos, the project promises a dazzling plunge into hedonism, glamour, and surrealist danger.
Produced by Adam McKay and Betsy Koch for Hyperobject Industries, and Oscar Isaac and Gena Konstantinakos for Mad Gene Media, Flesh of the Gods is being repped domestically by CAA Media Finance and WME Independent, with XYZ Films continuing international sales at the Marché du Film in Cannes.
Set in a neon-soaked 1980s Los Angeles, the story follows Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart), a married couple who descend nightly from their luxury high-rise to explore the pulsing underground of the city. Their lives take a turn when they encounter the mysterious Nameless, played by Olsen, who leads a seductive clique of hard-partying thrill-seekers. As Raoul and Alex are drawn deeper into this surreal and dangerous world, what begins as erotic curiosity may spiral into something far more unhinged.
Olsen’s casting brings major weight to the project. Known for her emotionally complex turn as Wanda Maximoff across the MCU—and for acclaimed indie fare like Martha Marcy May Marlene, Wind River, and Ingrid Goes West—Olsen is poised to bring a mix of allure, menace, and mystique to the enigmatic Nameless. This marks a reunion of sorts between Olsen and the kind of atmospheric dread Cosmatos mastered in Mandy, which became an instant cult favorite.
Flesh of the Gods also deepens Cosmatos’ collaboration with XYZ Films, who previously teamed with him on Something Beautiful, the upcoming Miley Cyrus visual album premiering at Tribeca. The company has quickly become a hub for high-concept genre cinema, with upcoming titles like Hallow Road, The Trip, and Havoc.
With a powerhouse cast, a director known for trippy cinematic experiences, and the backing of major creative players, Flesh of the Gods is shaping up to be a hypnotic, bloody fever dream. Expect big style, deep shadows, and performances that glow like neon in the dark.
