Halloween Horror Nights Brings Fortnite’s Fortnitemares to Life with New Scare Zone at Universal Orlando and Hollywood

Halloween Horror Nights is dropping players straight into one of gaming’s biggest Halloween events this fall.

Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have announced an all-new scare zone inspired by Fortnitemares, the annual Halloween event from the global gaming phenomenon Fortnite. The immersive experience will debut at Universal Orlando Resort beginning August 28 and at Universal Studios Hollywood beginning September 3 as part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.

For years, Fortnitemares has transformed the world of Fortnite with seasonal horror-themed gameplay, new characters, and supernatural surprises. Now, that experience is making the jump from the screen to the streets of Halloween Horror Nights.

Guests entering the new scare zone will find themselves in Freaky Fields, a Halloween battleground overtaken by a mysterious and menacing force. Designed to capture the fast-paced energy of the game, the environment will feature shifting hazards and encounters around every corner as visitors attempt to survive the chaos.

One of the centerpiece attractions will be the iconic Battle Bus, joined by recognizable Fortnitemares characters and several all-new creations developed exclusively for Halloween Horror Nights. Together, they’ll transform the scare zone into an interactive nightmare where guests must navigate the evolving battlefield to make their escape.

The announcement marks another major collaboration between Halloween Horror Nights and a globally recognized entertainment franchise, continuing the event’s expansion beyond film and television into the world of gaming.

Fans looking to commemorate the experience won’t have to wait until opening night. Universal has also unveiled a new line of Fortnitemares merchandise, including a graphic T-shirt, decal set, and acrylic collectible display piece. The collection is available now at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, with online sales launching through ShopUniversal.com beginning Thursday, July 23, at 9 a.m. PST.

Halloween Horror Nights returns to Universal Orlando Resort on select nights from August 28 through November 1, while Universal Studios Hollywood will host the event from September 3 through November 1.

Universal has also confirmed that additional haunted houses, scare zones, and experiences for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights will be announced in the coming weeks, giving horror fans even more reasons to keep an eye on what promises to be another packed season of scares.
